They typically are lightly armored and hit heavily but very agile on their feet but suffer from less range than most ranged units so will need to get closer to enemy formations, their promotions will help keeping them out of harms way. Promoted skirmishers will typically improve their range, accuracy, hitpoints and a slight boost in armor while making them slower and less capable in gathering resources. Infantry Skirmishers are produced at both the [[Civilization Center]] and [[Barracks]]. ==Naming== *[[Carthaginians]]: Səḫīr Kidōn (Iberian Mercenary Skirmisher) *[[Celts]]: Baguada (Skirmisher) **[[Britons]]: Baguada (Skirmisher) **[[Gauls]]: Baguada (Skirmisher) *[[Hellenes]]: Peltastḗs Thrâx (Thracian Peltast) **[[Athenians]]: Peltastḗs Thrâx (Thracian Peltast) **[[Macedonians]]: Peltastes Agrianikos (Agrianian Peltast) **[[Spartans]]: Akontistes Heilotes (Helot Skirmisher) *[[Iberians]]: Lusitano Ezpatari (Skirmisher) *[[Mauryans]]: None *[[Persians]]: Spardiya Takabara (Sardian Auxiliary) *[[Ptolemies]]: None *[[Romans (Republican)]]: Veles (Roman Skirmisher) *[[Seleucids]]: Thureophóros Politès (Militia Thureos Spearman), Pezakontistès Aravikós (Arab Javelineer) ==Civilization Specific Bonuses== Different Civilizations have different Civ Specific differences for example [[Roman]] Skirmishers have less range than [[Hellenes]] skirmishers.
